January 2009. OCD is proud to become  a Global Partner of the Illinois Online Network (http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/),  ION’s first global partner in Vietnam, thus joining ION’s mission to  “promote and build the foundations for developing, delivering, and supporting online enhanced education throughout the world”.

Within the Online Management Training program (OMT), developed by OCD with a take-off grant by the Global Competitiveness Facility, with a view to professionalise the development and delivery of e-learning programs for Vietnamese enterprises, the first group of Vietnamese trainers have joined ION’s Master Online Teacher Certificate Program in late January 2009.  They are either OCD associate trainers or representatives of provincial partners of the OMT program. Joining this intensive, award-winning program enables these trainers to benefit from a vast body of knowledge about online training development and delivery, gain personal experience of best-in-class online training themselves, thus helping them to develop a more relevant and effective online training program for Vietnamese enterprises.

The Master Online Teacher certificate is a comprehensive faculty development program based upon the MVCR (Making the Virtual Classroom a Reality) series of online faculty development courses offered by University of Illinois since 1999. This program recognizes and certifies faculty, staff, and administrators who achieve a measurable level of knowledge related to online course design, online instruction, and other issues related to online teaching and learning. More information on the Master Online Teacher Certificate Program can be found at: http://www.ion.illinois.edu/courses/students/mot.aspThe University of Illinois (www.illinois.edu) consistently ranks among the top public universities in the United States. The campuses in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago and Springfield offer hundreds of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, many of them among the best in the United States and taught by nationally and internationally respected faculty. In 2007 U.S. News & World Report ranked many undergraduate programs at Urbana-Champaign in the top 10 in the country, including accountancy 2nd, agricultural engineering 1st, civil engineering 1st, computer engineering 5th, engineering science/physics 2nd, materials science 1st, and real estate 7th.
